A bridal trial (or “preview”) is your rehearsal for the look you’ll wear when everyone is watching. In London, most trials run 2–3 hours so the artist can adjust texture, cover, and colour without rushing—especially if you need Asian bridal techniques or a softer glam that photographs evenly.
What to bring
- Reference images that match your venue lighting, not just Instagram filters
- Veil, earrings, and anything that sits on the hairline—they change how blush and contour read
- Your usual skincare; note any recent peels or actives (retinol, acids) in the 14 days before
What you should leave the trial with
Clear notes on products used (in case of allergy), a photo in natural and indoor light, and a plan for a second trial only if the dress, hair, or season changes. See also how to choose a wedding makeup artist before you commit a deposit.
